Ms. Erickson's recent exhibition, "Women of Frenchtown", took
the town by storm last October. This
time she focuses her camera on the local clientele that frequent the National
Hotel. "Friends In
Frenchtown" was photographed at the hotel in choreographed settings of
unusual scenarios, which evoke a surrealistic quality to the images. Ms.
Erickson describes this exhibit as seeing a side of your neighbor you may have
never seen before, and possibly a side to yourself you may not know you have. Everyone
who participated in the photo shoots at the National were not just willing
subjects but became part of the process. In
their enthusiasm and support, they offered a variety of inspired and creative
ideas.
